To kill two birds with one stone, things will be a little different with this month's promotions. As has been done a few times in the past, I will be going through all of the galleries for promotions and graveyarding. No need to sign up! Anyone who has updated in the month of June (and has linked to a request link they completed if ranked beginner+) is eligible for promotions! If you do not wish to be promoted, say so in big bold letters towards the top of your gallery. I don't know why you wouldn't, but just in case.

THE DATE OF YOUR LAST UPDATE MUST BE IN YOUR TOPIC DESCRIPTION. Anyone who has not updated in June and does not wish to be graveyarded should put =] in their topic description.

Promotions will start in two days. Graveyarding will start on July 6th.

If you haven't updated in June, and wish to be considered for promotions still, let me know.

Members must have 30 posts to be promoted!

But, since all galleries are being reviewed; do the guidelines still factor into promotions?

they should do, because those are the guidelines to get INTO that rank, if i'm not mistaken.

Yep! Although I follow the guidelines somewhat more loosely than others, people of every rank should make sure they fit those if they want to be promoted.

No, SMP has its own separate promotions for skin galleries. This is only for graphic galleries. I hope this helps. =]

I don't mind at all. I'm all about efficiency. I think I'm going to start member > expert for promotions, simply because I know a lot of members wait a long time for them. I'll do that today as I finish up the help topic from last month. I'll also start with members for graveyarding.

I have a question :)

So I was stalking some peoples gallery who have a higher status of what I have and that they had been already promoted. Does that mean I wasn't promoted??

Sorry, but it does. At the moment, I've gone through every gallery with the appropriate updates and whatnot once. I'll go through them again once before I graveyard galleries.

Where do we let you know that we'd still like to be considered for promotion, even if we haven't updated this month?

I missed the part where it said promotions would start in 2 days, and just assumed they wouldn't happen until like June 30th or July 1st and have barely been on and haven't gotten the chance to change out my gallery images with the new stuff I have.

Would I be able to change that stuff out when I get on tomorrow and still be considered for promotion? I have to head to bed now or I would do it now...

{{ma+petite}}: Unfortunately, the reason we ask that everyone do a request is not to see that you can do them, but because without this, many of our requests go unfilled, However I have been making exceptions this month because I know things have relatively been under control on the new RCR, whereas things had a tendency to get out of hand on the old one. Essentially, if I think you deserve a promotion this month, you'll get one. That doesn't go for any other months in the past or future, though.

okay it doesn't matter. my question. for example if I am not able to do blends but in gallery should be two blends for example.
will i not be promoted?
only from the fact that haven't blends in gallery. for example i'm , not important i or who the other , able make a banners and I have a lot of them.
will be not promoted only because she or he does not have blends.;D
maybe he or she is able to make something another.
I know it's a strange question but simply interesting to know.

I'm pretty quick about things, haha. Ideally, you should try to have at least one blend in your gallery. The guidelines say more, and that's mostly because we want you to show that you are good in all areas of making graphics. I've made exceptions in the past, but I hope you can understand why the guidelines are there.

i have a question, even though it's probably a stupid one.

if those of us who wanted a promotion didn't get it, is there a why to find out why other than a full gallery critique? i'm guessing i already know why i missed out, but i'm just genuinely curious, because eh. i guess that's really all there is too it...

Or is there a way to find out how close we are to getting to each rank? cause that would be handy...

Topics like the "Why wasn't I promoted" topic from last month really can't happen regularly, otherwise I would literally have no time to do anything else on RCR. I'm sorry I can't take more time to explain to every single person why I feel they're not ready for promotions, but I think it's pretty unreasonable to expect that of me, if I'm honest. I do the best I can with all I have to do on this forum. I'm going over the galleries more than once, which is more than most of the staff who have done promotions did in the past.

I know I've explained to you personally I don't know how many times why I don't think you're ready to be promoted. I don't know what else you want from me.

Johhno, First of all I must say: Respect to you for doing this, cuz (I'm admin at a graphicsforum too.) i know what a hell of a job it is :o.

But, and I don't want to give you more work or something, I was just wondering... I was promoted to beginner, and I''m not really satisfied with it.. If we aren't satisfied with our rank, what can we do? Or should we just keep quiet and go along with our lives?

This is just like any other round of promotions. If you're unhappy with your rank, for the most part only you can change that. Get a gallery critique, or have some of your individual pieces critiqued. Do some tutorials. Do challenges and requests to get more practice in. I'm sorry you're unhappy with your ranking.

And that still open. If i'm not mistaken, i'm next.
But, since that's 'due' to another month promotion, what should i expect? I mean, i'm a bit lost with that, sorry.

I'm a bit confused as to what you're asking. All the "why wasn't I promoted" thread is for is a mini-gallery critique to help point you in the right direction. I am sorry it's taken as long as it has to do, and I'm going to get to you today, but it doesn't have any sort of implication as to whether or not you were/will be promoted this month unless there have been significant changes in your gallery since last month.

Promotions = done. Congrats to everyone who was promoted, sorry to those who weren't! There were a lot of awesome galleries this month, and it made me incredibly happy to promote so many people! <_3 To those of you who weren't promoted, make sure your gallery isn't too overcrowded with old pieces. Those brought quite a few people down who had great galleries otherwise. We have to judge based on all pieces, not just the best, so make sure you only have your best in there!

Graveyarding starts on Monday, so everyone make sure you have your last update in your topic description, and if it's not in June or July, make sure you add =]
