Title: RC&R Revamp
Description: everyone read!

catlover - October 5, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
Yes you read right girls and boys!
Don't worry though, RC&R wont be shut down, we're going to work section by section. The aim is to prune/improve/update sections as this baby has been going for over a year now and we've got a lot more members than when it started.

First off is the request section!

What concerns you is that ALL Requests in the request section will be trashed on Friday 12th October. After that no requests will be allowed for a few days while we update the section.

You've got a weeks notice on this for anyone with requests, if you're worried about your request not getting picked up by an artist then I suggest you take a look at this topic. If your request doesn't get picked up at all then I apologise but you can always post it up after the revamp is over ^_^

I'll keep you all updated on the progress!

Request section done! If your request was underway it has been trashed, you are now free to re-request. The request section is open once again so get to requesting :)

However, there are a few changes to keep in mind when requesting, for full details I suggest you read up on the topics in the Request Help Center. I'll go over the changes here briefly so everyone knows what's new and old.

The HPFF request forum has been removed as we hardly get any, so from now on, if you have a HPFF banner request you can post that in the 'Other' request section.

The main changes have been with the rules; from now on, if you have specifically requested an artist, you may PM them to take a look at you request after three days has passed but firstly, check this topic for artists who do not wish to be requested. If an artist has accepted your graphics request, whether in the specific artist section or normal forum, you may PM them after the third day to see if they're still working on it and after 5 days, if they have not filled your request it will be opened again.

If you have had you request waiting for 7 days you may post in this topic to be in the 'priority' list for requests. Also concerning requests that have been waiting, you may allow a member or introductory artist to fill your request by following the details in this topic.

If you have a request and have been told your images are hard to work with or are having general trouble looking for images for your request, check the details in this topic on how you can get help for that.

For members who fill requests, you must now post in this topic to recieve your award. I've left the old topics up for anyone who has saved request links there, though those will not be looked at anymore.

If you would like to sign up to give critique to award winners for filling requests please do so here.

The last thing I'd like to address is the issue of PMing members to pick up requests. Firstly, we shouldn't have to, it's your responsibility to keep track of your request once you post it, it's poor payment to the artist to have the request they filled trashed because the requester has failed to pick it up after two warning PMs. It also seems that many of you have been sent a second warning PM without recieving the first one, if you feel you're one of those people, please post in this topic to get it sorted out.

That's all! Any questions can be posted in this topic. I'd also love to hear your feedback on the changes, whether you are a requester or artist. If you've got any further suggestions/feedback, reply to this topic :)

Thanks everyone <3

Hey guys! As you may know we're now revamping the 'getting better' section.
In an attempt make the resource section a little more organised we now have the 'Resource Database' where you can now post your resources. Resource questions stays the same. We also have an 'Answered Questions' forum to get rid of some of the clutter!
The current resources will be moved ASAP, but, for anyone posting new resources, please do so in the new forum.
You can see all of this here.

We have also added a 'Tutorial Junkyard' which can be found here where all answered questions and trashed tutorials will go. A new system on getting requested tutorials up is being worked on so keep checking back for that!

Activity regarding the tutoring section is also being discussed, as always, if you have questions feel free to PM me (catlover) or one of the tutoring squad or post in this topic.

Thanks!

Hey guys! All right, so the 'Getting Better' section is pretty much done ^_^ You can now earn RGP by making tutorials members have requested. Details can be found in this topic.

The tutoring section is still being worked on by the tutor squad, however we're going to move on to different sections now while the tutor squad deals with that. We're hoping to work on improving the organisation of the sub-forums as well as ways to help tutors cope with the workload of taking on a tutoring group :)

Next section on the list is the critique section!

Hey guys!
The staff have discussed the critique section and we're all set on what to do.
- To start with the separate subforums for critique (icon, blends, signature critiques) are going to be removed. It's a lovely idea but just hasn't helped with the backlog.
- The gallery critique section is going to be completely different, thanks to a suggestion by Mimmy. At first we were hesitant with the idea but we've come up with a system we feel will really work. I say no more, it's a suprise!
- I'm afraid forum critique's are going. They haven't been too popular and are just an extra stress for the critique squad. We may implement this kind of thing later but so far, we don't see the point of it.

All right that's what will be done but what you need to watch out for:
- I'm deleting the different forums so all the critique will be in one forum
- Everything before November 1st will be sent to the complete or incomplete forum
- All the critique topics will be sent to complete or incomplete come Sunday November 25th as a fresh start

- The Forum critique forum will be deleted a week from today (Sunday November 25th) to give you fair warning

- The gallery critique section is going to be deleted to leave space for our new system. At the moment we're unsure when this will open up again but you will be informed on how that's going.

- We're going to edit the rules to fit the new setup so keep in mind to re-read them once the revamp for this section is through.

That's all for now!

Hey everyone! We're currently discussing the 'Showcase Graphics' feature and whether to improve it or get rid of it altogether. If you would like to give any suggestions feel free to post in this topic.

Gallery critique is back! We have a whole new system, very similar to the request system. We're hoping this will turn out better than the previous setup so fingers crossed! Click to see the new forum

Please make sure to read the important topics (there aren't many) before posting and make sure you read through the rules. I'll repost here to make sure you understand that gallery critique is now 20 RGP and the artist who fills the request gets 20 RGP for it. So you're paying for their service :P

Thanks <3

As I mentioned, the forum critique area has been deleted. I've also cleared out all critique's that haven't been responded to since the 20th to have a semi-fresh start with the section. We're still discussing the idea of having subforums or not. That's it for the critique section!

I'm glad to see people benefitting from the gallery critique section, please give your feedback in the questions/comments topic. We'd really like to know what you think of it as opposed to the previous way it was setup :)
